I just received some bad news about a relative – he’s got end-stage liver cancer. Apparently, he knew about his deteriorating health at the start of the year and had it operated on while telling people around him that he’s only going to the hospital for some rehab (for his smoking). At the start of this month, tests revealed the cancer has metastasised and it is now end-stage. I have never seen this relative of mine before coz he migrated to Canada before I was born and unfortunately for all these twenty odd years, there hasn’t been a chance for us to meet face to face. So basically he’s no different than a stranger to me. But when I learned about the news, I can’t help from feeling really sad.
